Experience
Becoming a counselor is not something I have taken lightly. I have spent the past 10+ years growing in my ability to sit with people experiencing hard circumstances and learning how to best help them. This work is not just a job, but a life passion of mine.
I have extensive experience in working with teens and adolescents. While completing my undergraduate degree, I interned at New Haven Residential Treatment Center in Utah working with teenage girls with various psychological disorders. Upon graduation from Clemson, I interned with Clemson Baptist Collegiate Ministry where I discipled college girls in a ministry environment. I then went on to enroll in the Gordon-Conwell counseling program in 2021. While completing my graduate degree, I interned with Carolina Center for Behavioral Health, gaining experience on the in-patient adolescent ward. My final internship experience led me to private practice at Carolina Counseling Partners in Greenville.
What I enjoy most about working with teens, adolescents, and young adults is meeting clients where they are and letting them know that it’s Ok to feel whatever they are feeling. Our emotions can serve us rather than hinder us as they notify us of something going on which needs attention. If we slow down and listen, we can offer compassion to ourselves and appreciate where we are without trying to rush into changing too quickly which can lead to masking the symptoms rather than true healing.
I live near Greenville, SC with my husband, son, and daughter. My favorite activities are perusing a farmer’s market, reading, or hiking with my family.
